How Cross-Progression Works

Unified Progress
Everything you unlock—cars, player level, race progress, and achievements—syncs automatically. Start a race on Xbox, take a break, and pick up on your PC without missing a beat.

Platform Linking
To make it happen, link all your platform accounts to the same Microsoft account. Steam or PlayStation 5 users will be prompted to log in to Microsoft when starting the game for the first time.

Cloud Integration
Progress is stored on Forza Horizon 6’s servers, not just locally. This means you can jump between devices anytime, and your save will be exactly where you left it.

Licensing and DLC

Xbox Play Anywhere
Buy the digital version from the Xbox Store or the Xbox app on PC, and you get a single license that works on both platforms. No extra charge.

Separate Purchases
Steam or PlayStation 5 copies need to be bought individually. Your save carries over, but the game itself must be purchased on each platform.

Paid DLC
Car Packs, expansions, and other downloadable content generally do not transfer between ecosystems. DLC purchased on Xbox works on the PC Xbox app thanks to Play Anywhere, but Steam or PlayStation purchases require separate DLC purchases.
