Some ARC Raiders quests are hard because the fighting gets messy. Paving the Way is different. It asks you to notice signs, entrances, and floors that are easy to run past when you are watching for trouble. Having a few ARC Raiders Items ready can make the trips less stressful, but this job is mostly about not wasting time in the wrong rooms. The cleanest approach is to split it into two short deployments: Dam Battlegrounds for the note, then Buried City for the researcher's data.

The ENELICA Clue Is Right Near the Door.

For the first part, head to Water Treatment Control in Dam Battlegrounds. It is the safest reliable pick because the ENELICA connection is easy to recognise and you do not need to crawl through the whole facility. Come in from the south side and check around the main entrance. The researcher's notice is on a board close to the doorway, not tucked away in some back office. Plenty of players make the same mistake: they enter, start looting, hear something moving upstairs, and end up in a fight before touching the actual quest object. Walk up to the board, wait for the prompt, and check that the tracker has moved. If it has, leave. There is no bonus for hanging about.

Piazza Roma Is a Vertical Problem.

The Buried City section feels more dangerous because the clue is technically correct but a bit vague. Piazza Roma gets you into the right neighbourhood. The Convinio tells you which building matters. The researcher's flat is above it, and that last part is where runs go sideways. Start inside the Convinio building and keep looking for stairs, upper corridors, and any route that pushes you towards the roofline. Street-level shops are a dead end for this quest. So are most lower apartments. One workable route reaches the rooftop, then crosses into a connected upper section before dropping back inside. Once you are on the top floors, look for rooms with computer gear, terminals, or a workstation setup. Entering the area alone is not enough; you still need to interact with the research data.

Take a second before using a staircase or stepping onto the roof. Sound travels oddly in these buildings, and footsteps from a floor above can feel like they are right behind you. If another squad has the same idea, there is not much room to escape near the flat. I would avoid picking fights unless someone is holding the stairs, the roof crossing, or the objective room. This is a grab-and-go quest. Check the tracker after each interaction, especially if you get downed later. Progress usually sticks once the prompt has registered. And if you want to keep the run cheap, bringing cheap ARC Items for a focused objective loadout leaves you freer to extract instead of turning Piazza Roma into a long loot run.
